Fortune Tiger by PG Soft: what the 0.99% feature rate and the x10 full-grid rule mean in pesos

Short answer — Fortune Tiger is a 3-reel, 3-row, 5-line slot from PG SOFT with a theoretical RTP of 96.81% and a maximum win of 2,500 times the total bet. PG SOFT’s own game information sheet splits that RTP into 64.96% from ordinary main-game spins and 31.85% from the randomly triggered Fortune Tiger Feature, which arrives on only 0.99% of spins — roughly once every 101 spins on average. Two consequences follow from those official numbers. First, about one-third of the game’s return sits inside an event that most short sessions never see: across 100 spins there is still a 37% chance of no feature at all. Second, the famous x10 multiplier only applies when every symbol on the grid is part of a win, and when that happens the result jumps straight from a small line win to 30x–2,500x of the bet, which explains an odd-looking line in the sheet’s big-win statistics.

This guide does not recommend playing Fortune Tiger. It reads the provider’s published data so that a player in the Philippines can translate percentages into spins and pesos. Every figure that comes from PG SOFT is linked next to the claim; figures we derived ourselves are labelled as calculations, and peso amounts are hypothetical examples rather than limits of any particular platform. The official numbers and where each one comes from

The core source is PG SOFT’s Fortune Tiger game information sheet (version 1.0 r5, “Latest Update 02/08/2022”), retrieved through the Internet Archive because the provider’s own download server blocks access from our region. The RTP and maximum win also appear in the archived official Fortune Tiger game page on pgsoft.com, which lists “rtp: 96.81%” and “me: x2500” in its page data.

Item Official value
Layout 3 reels × 3 rows, 5 fixed bet lines, standard spinning reels
RTP overall 96.81% (main game 64.96% + Fortune Tiger Feature 31.85%)
Hit rate overall 23.15% (main game 22.16%, Fortune Tiger Feature 0.99%)
Maximum win 2,500x the bet (advertised, and the highest win in a 1-billion-spin simulation)
Session volatility Medium
Big / Mega / Super Mega Win frequency 1 in 68 / 1 in 2,438 / 1 in 291 (bands 20–35x, 35–50x, 50x and above)
Bet size and level Bet size 0.05, 0.5 or 5; bet level 1–10; default minimum €0.25, maximum €250
Testing laboratory named on the sheet Gaming Associates

The bet range is internally consistent: the smallest bet is 0.05 × level 1 × 5 lines = 0.25, and the largest is 5 × level 10 × 5 lines = 250. Peso limits on a real-money platform are set by that platform and are not given in the sheet.

Where the 96.81% comes from: ordinary spins versus the feature

An RTP figure on its own hides how the return is delivered. Fortune Tiger is unusual because the sheet tells us both halves. Dividing each part of the RTP by its hit rate gives the average size of a win in that part of the game (our calculation, expressed as a multiple of the total bet):

Part of the game Share of RTP Hit rate Average win when it hits (calculated)
Main game 64.96% 22.16% (about 1 in 4.5 spins) ≈ 2.93x the bet
Fortune Tiger Feature 31.85% 0.99% (about 1 in 101 spins) ≈ 32.2x the bet
Whole game 96.81% 23.15% —

So roughly one third of the long-run return (31.85 ÷ 96.81 ≈ 32.9%) is concentrated in a feature that triggers on fewer than one spin in a hundred. These are averages; a single feature can pay far less than 32x or far more, and the average is pulled upward by rare large results. What the split does show is that ordinary spins on their own return about 65 centavos per peso staked over the long run — the rest of the advertised return depends on catching the feature.

How many spins until the feature?

“0.99%” is a long-run frequency, not a schedule. Each spin is independent, so the chance of seeing at least one Fortune Tiger Feature in n spins is 1 − (1 − 0.0099)n (our calculation):

Spins played Chance of at least one feature Chance of none
50 39.2% 60.8%
70 50.2% 49.8%
100 63.0% 37.0%
200 86.3% 13.7%
300 94.9% 5.1%

It takes about 70 spins just to reach even odds. A session that ends after 100 spins without the feature is not evidence that the game is “cold” or that the feature is “due”; more than a third of all 100-spin sessions look exactly like that by design.

Reading the paytable as multiples of your bet

The sheet’s paytable lists seven symbols with values of 250 (Wild), 100 (gold ingot), 25 (gold-and-jade charm), 10 (fortune pouch), 8 (red envelopes), 5 (firecrackers) and 3 (mandarin orange) for three in a row on a bet line. These values are expressed per line in units of bet size × bet level, while the total bet is five of those units (one per line). Dividing by five converts them into multiples of the total bet — the number that actually matters to your balance.

Chart by phfun from the PG SOFT paytable and x10 rule. Purple bars: one winning line; gold bars: the same symbol on all nine positions, all five lines paid and multiplied by 10.
Symbol One line (×total bet) All 9 positions, ×10 (×total bet) At a ₱10 bet
Wild 50x 2,500x ₱500 / ₱25,000
Gold ingot 20x 1,000x ₱200 / ₱10,000
Gold-and-jade charm 5x 250x ₱50 / ₱2,500
Fortune pouch 2x 100x ₱20 / ₱1,000
Red envelopes 1.6x 80x ₱16 / ₱800
Firecrackers 1x 50x ₱10 / ₱500
Mandarin orange 0.6x 30x ₱6 / ₱300

The left column is the everyday reality of the game: a single line of oranges returns 60% of the stake, and a line of firecrackers merely gives the bet back. Only the top three symbols pay meaningfully on a single line. The right column is what the x10 rule does, and it is the reason the game’s results are so uneven.

A cross-check: 2,500x is nine Wilds

The conversion can be tested against the official maximum. Nine Wilds fill every position, so all five lines pay the Wild value: 5 × 250 = 1,250 units, which is 1,250 ÷ 5 = 250x the total bet. Because every symbol is involved in a win, the x10 multiplier applies: 250 × 10 = 2,500x — exactly the maximum win printed on the sheet and on the official game page. That agreement is our evidence that the “per line, in units of bet size × level” reading of the paytable is correct.

Why Super Mega Wins are listed as more common than Mega Wins

The sheet gives Big Wins (20–35x) as 1 in 68 spins, Mega Wins (35–50x) as 1 in 2,438 and Super Mega Wins (50x and above) as 1 in 291. At first glance a larger win band being six times more frequent than a smaller one looks like a typo. Our interpretation is that it follows from the x10 rule. A full grid of a single symbol produces one of only seven results — 30x, 50x, 80x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x or 2,500x — and none of them falls inside the 35–50x Mega band (50x counts as Super Mega). Ordinary line wins rarely add up to 35x on a 3×3 grid without filling it, so the Mega band is left with relatively few outcomes while full grids feed the Super Mega band directly. PG SOFT does not explain the distribution, so treat this as a reading of its numbers rather than a statement from the provider. Added together, the three bands imply a win of 20x or more about once every 54 spins (our calculation).

What actually happens in the Fortune Tiger Feature

According to the sheet, the feature can be triggered at random during any spin. When it starts, one symbol (never the Wild) is chosen at random, and the reels then contain only that symbol, Wilds or blank spaces. After the reels stop, if one or more new symbols — the chosen symbol or a Wild — have landed, everything already on the grid stays in place and all reels spin again. The feature ends on the first respin that adds nothing, and only then are wins paid. If the grid has filled so that every position is part of a win, the x10 multiplier applies.

This structure has two practical implications. The feature is not something you can buy or aim for: there is no buy option or scatter trigger in the sheet, and the trigger is random. And the outcome depends mainly on two things you cannot control — which symbol is chosen (an orange grid caps at 30x, a gold-ingot grid at 1,000x) and whether the respins keep adding symbols until all nine positions are filled.

Hypothetical example. At a ₱10 bet the feature chooses red envelopes. Respins add symbols until the top and middle rows are full of envelopes and Wilds, then a respin adds nothing. Two complete lines of envelopes pay 2 × 1.6x = 3.2x, or ₱32, with no multiplier because the bottom row is incomplete. Had the last respin filled the bottom row as well, all five lines would pay and the x10 rule would turn the result into 80x, or ₱800. Mixed grids with Wilds need to be checked line by line, because only the highest win per line is paid and a line of three Wilds pays the Wild value.

A peso budget example

Return to player can be turned into an expected cost: amount staked × (1 − RTP). The figures below are theoretical long-run averages (our calculation, hypothetical ₱10 bet) and say nothing reliable about one session.

Spins at ₱10 Total staked Theoretical average cost at 96.81% Average number of features
100 ₱1,000 ₱31.90 0.99
500 ₱5,000 ₱159.50 4.95
1,000 ₱10,000 ₱319.00 9.9

The average cost looks small, but the swings around it are not. Because one third of the return comes from a rare feature and the largest results come from full grids, a 100-spin session will usually finish below the theoretical figure when the feature does not arrive and well above it when a high-value full grid lands. Set the budget for the downside, not for the average. Some platforms offer versions of PG SOFT games with a different RTP configuration; check the RTP displayed in the game’s own rules screen on the platform you use.

Not verified: the RTP configuration and peso bet limits on any specific real-money platform; how often each symbol is chosen in the feature; how often a feature fills all nine positions. We did not play Fortune Tiger with real money for this article, and no session results are reported.

Before you play

Every spin is random, and none of the averages or probabilities above predicts the next one. Do not raise your bet to “catch” the feature, and do not read a long run without it as a signal that it is close. Decide your budget and stopping point before you start, and treat any money spent as the cost of entertainment. In the Philippines, gaming is for adults aged 21 and over, and you should only use platforms that are legally permitted to serve you.
