Gates of Valhalla by Pragmatic Play: RTP 96.46%, the 10,000x cap and what a 1,000-round demo sample can and cannot show
Published — UTC

Short answer: Pragmatic Play’s own demo data lists Gates of Valhalla at a regular RTP of 96.46% and a maximum win of 10,000 times the bet. The game page describes Roaming Wilds that move after every tumble and multiply winning combinations by up to 5x. At a ₱20 bet, the theoretical return is ₱96.46 per ₱100 wagered, and the cap is ₱200,000. Those figures are the provider’s. The sample we ran, 1,000 demo rounds, is far too small to test the RTP, and this article shows exactly why.
phfun reads the official numbers, converts them to pesos, and separates three things: what Pragmatic Play publishes, what we calculated from those numbers, and what the demo sample shows. We did not play with real money and we did not test any operator’s configuration.
The official numbers and where each one comes from
| Item | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Regular RTP | 96.46% | Pragmatic Play demo game information (doInit) and the game page |
| Purchase-option RTP | 96.60% | Pragmatic Play demo game information (doInit) |
| Maximum win | 10,000x the bet | Pragmatic Play demo game information (max_rnd_win) |
| Maximum-win frequency | 1 in 5,524,862 rounds | Pragmatic Play demo game information (max_rnd_hr) |
| Grid and mechanic | Tumbling wins; Roaming Wilds move after each tumble and carry up to 5x | Pragmatic Play game page |
The game page and the demo data agree on the regular RTP. The purchase figure comes only from the demo data, and we have not verified what each purchase costs on any platform, so this article does not turn it into a peso price.
A peso reading at a ₱20 bet
Our calculation, using the regular RTP and a flat ₱20 stake per spin:
| Measure (our calculation) | Result at ₱20 per spin |
|---|---|
| Theoretical loss per spin (3.54% of stake) | ₱0.71 |
| Theoretical loss per 100 spins (₱2,000 wagered) | ₱70.80 |
| Largest possible win (10,000 × ₱20) | ₱200,000 |
| Chance of the maximum win in any one round | about 1 in 5.5 million |
These are averages over a very long run. They do not describe what one session will do. Most rounds are short losses or small returns, and a result near the cap is rare enough that the average hides how uneven the experience is.
What our 1,000-round demo sample recorded
We ran 1,000 rounds on Pragmatic Play’s free demo server at a stake of 2.00 demo units (0.10 coin × 20 lines). A round here is one paid spin plus any free-game spins it triggered, and all wins were credited to the spin that caused them. The demo returned 540 paid spins from the 1,000 rounds, and the rest were free-game spins that did not cost a stake.

In that sample, 44.4% of paid spins returned something above zero, and 55.6% returned nothing. The largest single result was 37.1 times the stake. The returned total was 89.7% of the amount staked, which is below the official 96.46%. The 95% range for the sample return, calculated from the spread of individual results, runs from 63% to 116%.
That range covers the official figure and is far wider than a single 1,000-round run could resolve. A high-variance game can produce a return well above or below its RTP over a few hundred rounds. We therefore make no claim that the sample confirms, or contradicts, the 96.46% RTP.
Why the sample cannot test the RTP
The RTP is a long-run average. For a game with a 10,000x cap, a few large wins can move a short sample by tens of percentage points. Our 540 paid spins contained a 37x peak and no result above 100x. The sample says what happened in these rounds, not what the game is designed to return over millions of spins.
If you want to check a game’s behaviour yourself, count the paid spins, record every win in multiples of your stake, and compare the sample’s spread with the official maximum-win frequency. A result of 1 in 5.5 million is not something a hobby sample will ever observe.
Verified, calculated and not verified
Verified: the regular RTP, the 10,000x maximum win and the maximum-win frequency, as shown in the demo game information on 17 October 2026, and the game-page description of Roaming Wilds with multipliers of up to 5x. Calculated by phfun: the peso reading at ₱20, the loss per 100 spins, the bucket shares and the sample return. Not verified: the purchase cost in any real-money product, any operator’s RTP configuration, the free-game trigger rate and whether a local platform runs the same build. We did not register, deposit, or play for money.
